CONNECTING TH E VCR TO TH E TV
Refer to these pages to help determine the best way to
connect the VCR to a TV, stereo, or cable box.
SELECTING JACKS AND CABLES
RF JACKS AND COAXIAL CABLES (F-TYPE)
The RFjacks provide good picture and mono sound
quality, and must be used if audio/video connections are
not available for your TV.
These jacks are required for antenna or cable-TV
connections. The RFjacks on the VCR are labeled ANT. IN
and RF OUT. The coaxial cable supplied with your VCR is
used to connect the VCR's RFOUT jack and your TV's
antenna input.

AUDIO/VIDEO (A/V) JACKS AND CABLES (RCA-
TYPE)
AudioNideo jacks provide very good picture quality and
stereo sound, and can be used if your TV has AN input
jacks. Generally, if AN jacks are used, a line INPUT
"channel" needs to be tuned to in order to see the picture.

References section of this manual.
A/V jacks can be used for most connections between
components. The VCR's AN jacks are color coded (yellow
for video, red for RIGHT audio, and white for LEFT/MONO
audio). If your TV only has one input for audio, a Y-
adapter may be needed to hear sound from both the left
and right channels (the adapter will be plugged into the
VCR's LEFT audio out jack).
