Caring For Your Range

How it works
During the Self-Cleaning cycle, the oven gets
much hotter than it does for baking or
broiling...approximately 875°F (468°C). This heat
breaks up grease and soil and burns it off.
This graph shows approximate temperatures
and times during a Self-Cleaning cycle for 3 hours.

that the heating stops when the three-hour setting is up, but that it takes longer for the oven to
cool down enough to unlock.

Continuous-

Using the Continuous-Cleaning
left oven
Standard oven walls are coated with smooth
porcelain. Your Continuous-Cleaning oven walls
are coated with a special, rougher porcelain. A fat
spatter beads up on the smooth surface, but
spreads out on the rougher surface. The bead of
fat on the smooth surface chars and turns black.
The spread-out fat on the rough surface
gradually
burns away at
medium to high baking
temperatures
so the oven can return to a pre-
sentably clean condition.
