Basic Requirements
Before you begin the installation, ensure that you complete the following
requirements:
• Install TCP/IP and configure a static IP address on your server. If you
need assistance implementing TCP/IP or configuring a static IP
address, contact Pearson Digital Learning Product Support at 1-800-
227-8224.
• All client workstations use the Novell Network Directory Services
(NDS) client. SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 does not support client
workstations using the Microsoft NDS client.
• Run the latest service pack and NetWare TCP update on your NetWare
server.
• Install the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 system on non-compressed
NetWare volumes.
• Install the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Management System Setup -
School CD and the courseware CDs from a Windows workstation.
• The site fulfills the minimum system requirements. For the latest

Installation Preparation Checklist
Ensure that you have the items given in the checklist below.
SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Management System Setup -
School CD
SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.2 Sybase Server Component CD
SuccessMaker Courseware CDs (1-10) and the Math Concepts and
Skills 2 course CD or the Courseware DVD v1.6 to install the
courseware to your server
If you do not want to install the courses to your server, you need to
have the individual course CDs or the SuccessMaker Courseware
DVD.
A volume with at least 8 GB free hard drive space is available if
you plan to install the courseware on the server
A minimum 2 GB of free disk space on your server to install the
SuccessMaker Enterprise management system
Additional 70 MB of free disk space on your server to install
Sybase SQL Anywhere Studio 8 and the EBF patch
