Installing the SuccessMaker Enterprise Client on
Macintosh Workstations
To install a client on your Macintosh workstations, complete the following
steps:
1. Log on to your Macintosh workstation as the SMadmin user.
Note:
If you intend to use a Courseware DVD to run the
courseware, you must insert the Courseware DVD in the DVD
drive before you run the client installation.
2. Attach to the SME shared volume of your server as a user with
read-only rights (either the SMstudent or SMteacher user).
3. Open the ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Mac folder on the
SME volume.
4. Double-click the Vise Setup installer icon. The Pearson Digital
Learning logo appears.
5. Click Continue. The NewSetup dialog box appears.
6. From the install list, click SMe v1.6 Install, and then click Install.
7. When a message appears and states that no other applications can
be running during the installation, click Continue to proceed.
Note:
If you are running the setup on a Mac OS 9.x
workstation, go to step 10.
Note:
You can run the SuccessMaker Enterprise management
system in either the Classic or Native mode.
8. If a dialog box appears where you need to select the mode of the
client installation, click Native, and then click Okay.
Note:
If you select the Classic mode, ensure that Macintosh
Runtime for Java 2.2.5 exists on your Macintosh workstations.
9. Click Continue.
