Setting Up a Firewall Rule for Microsoft
Windows XP Service Pack 2 Workstations
Note: The instructions in this section are for the Windows XP classic
view.
To set up a firewall rule for port 2880 – the default port for Macintosh
report printing service, complete the following steps:
1. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
2. Double-click Windows Firewall.
3. In the Windows Firewall Properties dialog box, click the
Exceptions tab.
4. Click Add Port.
5. In the Add Port page, type the following:
• Name: Type SME Macintosh Printing
•Port: Type 2880
•TCP: Use default setting
6. Click OK.
7. The server related tasks are now complete. You must now set
up your Macintosh workstations. Go to the next section.
