Table 2-1 lists the tasks that you must perform to install BMC Software
products. Complete the tasks in the order that they are presented, using the
References column to direct you to the location of the task instructions.

Perform preinstallation tasks. These tasks include
• gathering the information that you need to
configure the products that you choose to install
• backing up your current system
• ensuring that everything on your system is ready
for the new products

If you receive your software electronically, you must
process the Electronic Software Distribution (ESD)
image.

must unload the Install System application from that

Run the Install System CLIST to start the Install
System.
