BMC48054I DISCARD LOGGING NOT INVOKED FOR UPDATE JOBSTEP
Explanation: During the initialization process, the BATCH CONTROL
FACILITY (BCF) Physical Logger found that exchange log device processing for
STATS was requested for the job step. The program specification block (PSB) for
this job step indicated an update intent, so discard logging processing was not
invoked.
System Action: Processing continues with IMS logging active.
User Response: This message is informational and is intended to identify job steps
with original JCL that specified IMS log data sets as DUMMY or NULLFILE but
that contained update intent. For these job steps, correct the log data set
specifications or the PSB intent and resubmit the job.
BMC48055I ATTEMPTING TO SET DISCARD LOGGING FOR READ ONLY JOBSTEP
Explanation: During the initialization process, the BATCH CONTROL
FACILITY (BCF) Physical Logger found that exchange log device processing for
STATS was requested for the job step. The program specification block (PSB) for
this job step indicates read intent, so BCF attempts to activate discard logging for the
job step.
System Action: Processing continue. BCF attempts to activate discard logging for
this job step.
User Response: This message is for your information only. No action is necessary.
The request to activate discard logging might not be successful. If so, BCF issues
messages indicating why discard logging could not be activated.
BMC48056I INVALID OPERAND FOR UPD= KEYWORD
Explanation: A BATCH CONTROL FACILITY (BCF) Log utility control
statement contains the UPD keyword, but the operand does not contain a valid value.
The valid values for this operand are PSB and ALL.
System Action: Processing continues. BCF issues message BMC48033I.
User Response: Correct the control statement and resubmit the job.
BMC48061I BCF RESTART ENVIRONMENT IS INVALID; REASON = rc
Explanation: During restart processing, the execution controller found that
restart processing was necessary for the job step but the status of the job step was not
valid for restart. The reason code (rc) in the message provides the details of the
invalid environment.
