2 The REGISET contains an options record that specifies an invalid length.
AR/CTL ignores the record; the options it contains are not included in the
options merging process.
The message includes a level ID to identify the record associated with the exception
condition. The level ID and key qualifiers of the record are displayed in the Options
Summary report in the ARCPRINT data set.
System Action: Processing continues.
User Response: Correct or delete the record before the next execution of the job
step.
BMC74005I OPEN FAILED FOR DDNAME=ddname RC=rc
Explanation: APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) cannot open a
data set necessary for execution. The message text provides the ddname of the data
set and the return code (rc) from the open process. Possible data set ddnames are
ARCPRINT, ARCSYSIN, IMS, and ARC.
System Action: For ddnames ARCPRINT and ARCSYSIN, processing continues
without the use of the data set. For ddnames IMS and ARC, if the Force AR/CTL
Execution option (set at the AES global level) is set to Y, the job step terminates
abnormally with abend U1553. If this option is set to N, the job step continues
without AR/CTL.
User Response: Correct the problem as indicated by the return code. For ddnames
ARCPRINT and ARCSYSIN, you can typically wait until after the job step
completes before correcting the problem. For ddnames IMS and ARC, AR/CTL
cannot be used until you correct the problem.
BMC74006E LOAD FAILED FOR MODULE=module
Explanation: APPLICATION RESTART CONTROL (AR/CTL) detected an
error while attempting to load the given module.
System Action: In some cases, AR/CTL abnormally terminates the task with abend
U1771 and reason code X’00074006’. In other cases, the action taken depends on the
module that could not be loaded. AR/CTL issues additional messages to provide
more information about the error and the action taken, and it may issue an abend
U1553.
User Response: Review the JCL statements to ensure that the required module
resides in the appropriate load library concatenation. Ensure that customized
modules are retained when installing AR/CTL maintenance, as described in the
Application Enhancement Solutions Installation Guide. If the problem persists, have
the job log data set available and contact BMC Software Product Support.
